LYNX - Not too big, Not too small...

The Desert Wolf LYNXis one of the most popular trailers on the market due to its medium size and unbeatable off-road abilities. The basic trailer consists of a heavy duty off-road chassis, with a large load bin. The load bin has 4 doors that open to the sides to enable easy access to the load bin, as well as a large rear-opening door. The load bin and all accessories are manufactured from grade 304 (non-magnetic) stainless steel. The 1.5m load bin can be used as a single large containers for basic applications, but are often separated into different bins through dividers. This provides neat packing and utility spaces.

The suspension and chassis is strong and durable and will take you anywhere. The axle width and wheels are matched to that of your tow vehicle to ensure that the trailer will follow you wherever you go. The chassis is manufactured from 3CR12, with leaf springs, adjustable shocks, axle stabilisers and auto-reverse brakes. Rear-mounted spare wheel carrier is standard.

To this strong base you can add any feature you may need. All load containers and accessories are manufactured from grade 304  non-magnetic stainless steel and are not painted.

The Desert Wolf LYNX can be fitted with a wide range of accessories. Some of the accessories include:

Nose Cones:

Nose cone Fridge storage box with 2 side doors. On the Lynx the fridge is installed in the nose cone. This nose cone can be fitted with an optional nose cone roof rack, very handy for carrying wood, charcoal and other bulky items.

Fridges / Freezers:

We recommend National Luna stainless steel fridges. These top-quality fridges complement the quality of our trailers and withstand the conditions associated with travelling in a trailer very well. Two options are available for your Lynx:

Fridge mounting, brackets and bearing rails, wiring and cable tracks will be required for mounting the fridge.

Electrical Systems:

If you want to install an electrical system in your Lynx (to power lights and a fridge) you have the following options:

Water tanks:

The Lynx chassis can accommodate 2 large grade 304 (non-magnetic) stainless steel tanks. Note that when only one tanks is installed it is preferable to install the rear tank to assist with weight distribution.

Kitchen, kitchen drawers and pantry:

Kitchen with gas stove and work surfae mounted in rear doorThe rear part of the Lynx load bin can be separated from the main load bin to provide a pantry. The pantry consists of stainless steel shelves, with optional 4-way lockable plastic containers to ensure optimal use of space. An aluminium kettle is included with the pantry. The oak kitchen, with kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery for 6 people, a work surface and a gas stove, is fitted in the rear door. One or two large drawers can also be installed to improve access to the bottom of the load container. The drawers pull out towards the rear of the trailer and are accessible from the kitchen.

Wolff pack racks with 4 Wolff packs - also light, canvas bags and externally mounted power inletOne or both sides of the load bin can be fitted with angle brackets for 4 Wolf packs (plastic storage containers) inside main door. A special hidden ground sheet and shade netting storage tray on top of Wolff pack rack is also available.

The Lynx is sold as a basic trailer and you make a selection from the list of accessories to meet your own personal requirements. It is also possible to start with the most basic accessories and add on as you need to grow.  This basic trailer includes the following:

The Lynx is smaller than the Leo model, and will carry enough luggage for large families and groups. For a new Desert Wolf customer the choice often comes down to the larger Leo or the medium sized Lynx.
